Lexie was quite the dreaming dog.  Right from the start, her dreams were evident daily, as she ran, barked, whimpered, and snuffled while asleep.  Depending on the day, her legs would churn and she would run and run in her sleep, sometimes...

I babysat Daisy for several periods over the last three years of her life, and want to post a photo of this beautiful chihuahua here.  She would bark when it was her bedtime as Lexie did (everyone was supposed to go with her, even if it was 9 pm!)....

Sparkle was an apricot male poodle, who lived with Lexie for the last four years of his life.  After his initial protests and natural opposition, (Lexie was ten years his junior), he grew to live with Lexie side by side, and their favourite couch...

Looking out was a favourite pastime, and Lexie would try to see out of any window.  Here she was on someone's bed, trying to look out at the ravine.  Deer would come through, and she would bark and sit, bark and sit, until they disappeared....

In addition to being silky soft, Lexie's ears moved independently of each other.  One could be flat and the other sitting straight up, or, they would sit sideways at different angles.  As with most dogs, her ears betrayed her mood, and...

Lexie loved to lick - people, other dogs' noses and a good tennis ball.  She would lick your neck until she was tired out, and especially liked it at the height of summer, when people were sweaty and salt laden!  

Lexie went on two trips to Huntsville, and gradually became acquainted with the water, a new experience for her.  The sunlight on her coat, and it sparkling off the water, is a great memory for us, watching this timid dog blossom and bask in the...

Lexie only chewed things that she was "supposed" to, like rawhide that we bought her, or tennis balls retrieved.  Shoes, cushions, and other "forbidden" objects were never touched, interestingly, and she loved to sit and have...

In December 2006, Lexie was on one of many of our Christmas cards; I took her photo at Rouge Beach, at dusk, in silhouette, as her physique was something to behold.  Her brother had died two months earlier, and she was four, coming into her own....
